I frequently use a set of hinged <em>Quilter&#8217;s Design Mirrors<\/em> when designing with multiple cuts and repeats for projects such as Lone Stars, Quick Stars, Kaleidoscopes, Mariner&#8217;s Compass, hexagonal designs, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jankrentz.com\/store-details.php?RECORD_KEY%28store%29=ID&amp;ID(store)=8\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1596\" style=\"border: 0px currentColor;\" title=\"KrentzMirrors_c\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jankrentz.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/KrentzMirrors_c.jpg\" alt=\"Quilter's Design Mirrors\" width=\"250\" height=\"295\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A quick\u00a0method to determine whether a fabric will be suitable for your &#8220;fussy cut&#8221; technique is to lay the template shape (in this case, a 60-degree triangle\u2212sold in several sizes) on the printed fabric, and position the mirrors at one tip of the triangle.<\/p>\n<p>A repeated hexagon is magically created! The reflected\u00a0image is <em>not exactly the way it will appear<\/em> when\u00a0physically cut, but does give you a good idea whether you&#8217;ll like the visual effect of that particular fabric before cutting. Both versions are enticing!
