After laying out all the pieces, moving the hexagons around until the colors blended and flowed from one area to another.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a preview photo of\u00a0my design, with the first row (on the left) sewn together. Press firmly as you apply the tape, securing all the loose pieces to the single piece of tape. When you resume sewing, double-check your seam allowance to verify you always sew with the same seam. This one step will insure <em>every<\/em> project you sew will fit together much more accurately. I use one of two seam allowance tools, pictured below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.perkinsdrygoods.com\/store-detail.php?cat=3&amp;ID=0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1617\" style=\"border: 0px currentColor;\" title=\"IMG_3337C\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jankrentz.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/IMG_3337C.jpg\" alt=\"Perfect Piecing Seam Guide by Perkins Dry Goods\" width=\"500\" height=\"328\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lower the needle into the scant 1\/4&#8243;\u00a0hole BY HAND. Lower the presser foot.
