This Lone Star quilt features a soothing color palette, selected from the beginning while working with the charming Mary Ellen Hopkins border print fabric, seen in the outer border. The outer setting blocks were carefully cut to frame the inner star medallion with shaded sky, water, and soil.
Lightening bugs and dragonflies flit through the lazy summer sky. The quilt reminds me of childhood wonders and discoveries, skipping barefoot through the grass, watching the sunset, and the magic of fireflies in the cool evenings. NEW workshop, Spring 2000!
This 2-day workshop features a wide variety of techniques, including:
- the BASIC Lone Star methods of strip piecing, angle cutting
- working with bias edges on diamonds
- ssembling the larger diamond units
- setting in blocks and corners * fussy-cutting and working with border printed fabrics
- inserting custom touches of appliqué to bring "life" to your design
It's a great class for intermediate-level quilters who have standard rotary cutting and piecing skills.
